Barb: Micetic relatives
My great-great grandparents, Miko and Ursala (Randick) Micetic came to America from Croatia and settled in Chicago, Illinois around 1877. Our family has no information on the famalies they left behind. If anyone has any information or advice to share I would greatly appreciate it!
Sincerely,
Barb

Barb

Do post on all the boards that apply to your ancestor.
You need to locate a name of a town in order to proceed with the research.

www.google.com
www.croatia-in-english.com
www.stevemorse.org
The LDS-Mormons have filmed some church records of Croatia so do check their website for any possible films which you can order and gather ancestral information.
www.bmi.net/jjaso to familiarize yourself with church wording.

Barb, Your great-great-grandparents just happen to have the same names as my great grandparents. They had a son named Makso (Max).

Barb: Re: Micetic relatives
Are you kidding me?!? My great-grandfather`s name was Maxson (Max), and he had 3 older brothers and a younger sister. My Miko Micetic was a merchant marine - mostly for the Italians - before coming to Chicago.
What else do you know about your great-great grandparents??

Davidmic61: Re: Micetic
My understanding is Miha was in the merchant marines, and departed Croatia from of Split. He was from the town of Cuculjanovo (now spelled "Kukuljanovo"). I have searched for the town using Google Maps, and found it is a predominently industrial area north of Bakar and east of Rijeka on Highway 40. It is just a few miles north of Skrjevo. (If you pass the Taco Bell, you've gone too far...just kidding) It is pretty small so you need to zoom in to find it.The map coordinates are latitude 45.329563 and longitude 14.520317. It was such a cool feeling to find this piece of the puzzle.
