If your ancestor John / Janos MIHACSI had social security numbers or was naturalized citizen than those papers would give you some information.

The pass port says Maggar, Hung the ship was Auitania and the depart area was Southhampton Eng. His soc number 382-09-6456 His mother was Rose a sister Rose, and Helen brothers Steve,Alex,Joe,Father Steve One brother staye in Hungary That was Steve,As far as we know His familt is still there. His mothers maiden name was Boker (2 dots above the o) I have a birth date of about 1875. I wanted to go futher back
in history if I could , thanks is there a way to research ?

Karen, There should be a name of a town on the passport..
7 MIHACSIs passed thru Ellis Island.
It should be Magyar and not Maggar. Twenty year old John / Janos was born in Ostffy, Hungary. There is a town named Ostffyasszonyfa in Vas megye and in Hungary.

I was browsing the internet and came acrossed this site. My last name is also "Mihacsi" and I was wondering if we were related in anyway. My grandfather's name is Richard .. but i know somewhere farther down the line his great grandparents came from hungary

Rachael,My Grandfather John was the son of Steve and Rsoe (Boker) they came to america in 1920 1921 I have my grandfathers passport and birth certificate, also the c-ship paper, all though hard to read. at that time they lived on Draggon street in Detriot in late 20's, if we are the same would love to see your information. I live in Hungary in Ostffyasszonyfa. My grandfather was Mih�csi Zolt�n. He was born 1908. and he died 1985. His father was Jhon/Janos Mih�csi. He was born 1878 and died 1914. My mother Mih�csi Katalin and she has a brother Zolt�n.

Just found an ID bracelet in my backyard with the name Diane Mihacsi and other info, including May, 1959 birth date. Anybody have any info? It's about 6-1/2" long, would fit small frame adult or child's wrist. Oakland County, Michigan.

Hey There everyone just did a search again for family info and found this site. Wish it showed me your emails so I could be direct.
My father Joseph Mihacsi JR. son of Joseph Mihacsi SR. born in pesht (Pecs) Hungary.
We are in Oregon.
My uncle Dick (Richard) is from MI along with my long lost cousins. I miss Dianne so much. It sounds like some of you are their children/spouses/cousins.
I have a very private extended family here ( except for me). Wish I could find more info.
