| ascrida: Mixich | Laszlo Mixich 23, came to the USA in 1907 on the ship Karlsruhe. His sister Katalin, 14 also was a passenger. They landed in Philadelphia and made there way to Chicago. Laszlo/Laudislaus/Louis Mixich. met my Gr-Grandmother in Cincinnati Ohio. Anna Franz. She arrived in 1906-08. The manifesto says Loszlo was born in Tiszauly. He lived on a fam in Haizfeld, Austria-Hungary/Jimbolia, Romania. She Cerne, Austria-Hungary/Timisoara, Romania. I have no more information, but I am almost certain that in the USA my grandma and her sister are the only mixichs left in the usa.
Other facts are that my Gr-Grandmother had the option to stay with her wealthy aunt. Once she saw her aunt throw a silver comb at a servant she decided to leave. The Russians then invaded, confiscated her lands and sent her to Siberia, when on route she died. Other facts are Laszlo was the son of a Karl Mixich. he married 4 times, each wife died in child bearing. A young stepsister convinced my Gr-Grandfather to take the deed of the farm left in the old country...to check up on it. She took it and was never heard from again. I think Laszo had 2 brothers, Charles, Valintine, and as sister Katalin. I wish I knew more. I also had a crazy story that one of the Hapsburg princes frequented an inn with a pretty serving girl. She ended up pregnant, the owner of the inn, being wise, offered to marry her for obvious reasons. he prospered and Karl, my gr-gr-grandfather was the offspring. Other facts was that some of them bred the horses...the Lippenzangers. I do not know how much is big talk or real but that is what I have to go on. Other Hungarian/Romainian/Austrian/German names besides Mixich are: Weber and Franz. |
