You have a name of a town, birthdates etc. and is there a Family History Center Library in your area? If yes, than you are on your way to research your ancestral roots.

The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910
The town of Tornaszentandras falls into Abauj-Torna megye
The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) website is listing a Roman Catholic church records for Tornaszentandras.
You can order the films and gather ancestral information.
www.bmi.net/jjaso to familiarize yourself with church wording
A listing for BUBENKO in the phone book of Tornaszentandras. Possible distant relative.

Madonna: Andrew Molnar, Petervasara, Heves
I am looking for information on my grandfather's family. My grandfather Andrew Molnar was born in Petervasara, Heves, at Christmas time in 1879. He was probably baptized at the Catholic church there. He married Agnes Pal in about 1900. He had brothers Anthony and Emery. There were supposed to have been 5 brothers who came to America. I know my Uncle Anthony went back to live in Hungary in the 1950's. According to information on my grandfather's death certificate, his mother's name was Agnes. I hope someone knows this family because I realize that Molnar is a very common surname in Hungary. Thank you.

It has something to do with legalizing Magdolna illegitimate birth. I'm almost 100% sure, that they got married on Jan.? 1887, compare it with the actual birth date which I can't see.
I can read, az anya=the mother with István Réfi, házasság=marriage, and the last two word törvényessé tett=become legal.

Madonna: Andrew Molnar, Petervasara, Heves
Andrew's parents were Janos Molnar (born @ 1854) and Agnes Pap (born @ 1860). They were married on 5 November 1877. This was most likely in the Catholic church there. Andrew was likely their first or second child. The youngest two were Antal Molnar (born 16 January 1893) and Imre Molnar (born 22 January 1895). Andrew's wife was Agnes Pal (born 17 April 1882). Here parents were Ferenc Csatlos Pal (born @1851) and Zsuzsanna Gal (born -a-t- 1854) -d-o-t- They were married 9 November 1874. The children that I know of are: Maria, 28 August 1875-1878, Borbala, 4 October1877 (married Illes Looke Bocsi 19 November 1894), Martina, 8 October 1879, Agnes, 17 April 1882 - 22 November 1975 (Toledo, Ohio, USA), Ilona, 19 July 1884, Anna 26 October 1888 - 9 March 1889, Szidonia, 23 May 1890, Adam, 19 July 1894 - 25 July 1894. I'm sure there were more sons in this family, though I know none of the sons survived childhood. My guess is there was one around 1886, and another around 1892. Does any of this connect with anyone else's family tree? Thanks.

Pal Kokity: Katalin Molnar is an ancestor
Hello,
My father, Janos Kokity came to the USA after the Hungarian Revolution. I am trying to find more information about my Hungarian heritage, including the ancestry of my great-grandmother, Katalin Molnar, who lived in or near Szabadka/Subotica. She married (?)Nagy and gave birth to my grandmother, Magdolna Anna Nagy around 1907. Magdolna married my grandfather, Pal Kokity.

I have been searching the 3 major web sites, but have only found relatives that I know about already. I am starting to relearn the Hungarian language so that I can travel over there to visit and research my relatives. Please let me know if you can help me. - Pal

yuritrisha: Molnar
I am looking for information about my great-grandfather's relatives. My great grandfather's name was John Mudri born in Austro-Hungary in c.1888-1892. According to my great-aunt's memoirs "he had two brothers, Micky and Steve Mudri, and two stepbrothers, Peter and Mike Molnar. His father died young and his mother remarried a man named Adam Molnar and she had the two boys. His two brothers Micky and Steve Mudri came to the U.S. in 1914 and settled in Canada. His two stepbrothers came to the U.S. in 1916 and settled in Cleveland, Ohio. His stepbrother Mike left a wife and two children in Austria. Mike came here to find work, which he did. He opened a candy store in Cleveland Ohio with a soda fountain. Peter got married and settled in Cleveland, Ohio, and had five children".
If you are related to any of these people, please let me know.
Thanks, Trisha

There was/is many Bogdan(y) in Hungary. Based on your information from Ellis Islandd records, I determined that Gogolak family was in close relation with Kudela family.

My GG grandmother was Katalin Molnar, born 11/28/1963 in Nozslop, Hungary. Her parents were Josef Molnar and Orvese?? Molnar. I do not know if she had any siblings. She married Istvan Refi and had two children, Magdolna Refi, born 7/21/1886 in Nagybogdany and Istvan Refi. Magdolna arrived in the US on 7/2/1901 and settled in New Jersey. There she married Joseph John Renner (my Great grandfather) of Nagytevel, Hungary. That is all I know about my Molnar roots. I don't know if that helps you at all.

Janos: Re: Homorodszentpal
Dear Janos Szekely,
In 2005 you wrote: "I'm looking for information on my great great grandmother Molnar Julianna. She was born at Homorodszentpal in present day Romania, she emigrated to he States in March 1913. I found some data on her on a site caled Ellis Island,. so we1re quite sure she arrived their. It's said she married another Transsylvanian emigrant. She later settled in Indianapolis. Any help would be appreciated.
Yours Truly Szekely J."

The Parish registers of Homorodszentpal are kept in Csikszereda's archive (the countytown of Hargita County, Transylvania, Romania). If I remember well, somebody from your family had a visit in Transylvania in late 1990s and made a visit too in my native village Szekelymuzsna. I met him.
If you are still interested in family roots, maybe we are able to help you with some info.
Best wishes and Happy New Year!
Janos - from Transylvania

plafleur: Molnars from Kalsa and Slivnik
I am researching my maternal Molnar line that traces it's roots back to Kalsa, Hungary. My grandfather was born in Pennsylvannia in 1915 (George Bravis Molnar), but his father Paul Molnar Jr and 3 more generations back were born in Kalsa. After those 4 generations in Kalsa, around 1771, I have 2 generations born in Slivnik, Hungary (Andras Jr. and Sr.). I have a connections for these ancestors and some dates but not many. I would really love to get some history of the area, some more connections, some dates, some copies of certificates of birth, death, marriage if they exist, just anything.
