| LegalCohen: Najusz | | I'm looking for information about anyone with the surname of Najusz. My grandfather was born in 1888 and immigrated to the U.S. in 1905. His name on the ship's manifest was Sandor Najusz. Other records indicate he was born in Jakobfalva. The ship's manifest also indicates his last residence before immigrating was Szepes Takubjan. His father's name was Isak and his mother's maiden name was Lena Blat. Lena died in Hungary, probably around 1900. Isak remarried and immigrated with his wife and their 3 children between 1909 and 1911. In birth order, my grandfather's full siblings were Esther, Morris, Gabriel, Anna, Bertha, and Sandor. I was also told by two relatives who did not know each other that my grandfather had a twin brother but they didn't know his name. My mother's oldest sister and only surviving child has no knowledge that her father had a twin. I have also been unable to locate any information in any record that would identify any person as a close match for my grandfather's twin brother. What I would like to locate is my grandfather's birth certificate or some record of his birth. I assume if my grandfather had a twin brother, the twin's birth certificate or other record of his birth would be found with it. I'm fairly certain that at one time my grandfather had a copy of his birth certificate. When I was given a copy of his naturalization certificate, it was in an envelope and on the outside was written "Papa's birth certificate and naturalization." |
