Paul: Looking for ancesters / Családi kerés

Hello, I´m looking for my ancestors in Hungary (or former parts of).

The last approved data is:

Alexander Karl Gustav NITSCH, born 14. Jan. 1844 in Balaton or Bekolcze, Heves; his spouse:Mathilde Johann Horn, born 1852 ; his father:
Samuel Nitsch, born 14. Aug. 1800 in Straza (Sztrászo) - Michelsdorf, lawyer; his spouse: Clara Rainer(in), born 1810;
his father: Jacob Nitsch, further details missing, spouse: Susanna Krompbächer or Krompbäcker.

Alexander Karl Gustav had a sister of the name Klara, further details missing.

I´m looking for additional data concerning these persons and their relatives and would be very thankful for your help.

helmut nitsch

I was born in Rakusy (slow.)near Keszmarok ( in German :Roks bei Käsmark / Slowakei )and my grandfathers are Johann and Johann Friedrich Nitsch.

Are you aware of the church films that LDS-Mormons have filmed that you can gather ancestral information off of them?

The Slovak Republic's phone site is at :

There is a town named Krompachy in SK. By any chance a some sort of similarity to Krompbacher?

I am the fourth Paul Nitsch in America in our family which came from Hegy Shalom (sp?) in what is now Hungary, about 60 miles east of Vienna. These Nitsches moved to western Kansas, from where I came. I have a few geneological notes from research done some years ago, and was curtailed when it was found that the local church in Hungary had burned and destroyed all the records of the family. I will be happy to share what I have with any Nitsch who is interested.

DGuarnera23: Nitsch in Rakusy

I am looking for information regarding my great grandfather, Johann "John" Nitsch who came from Rakusy. He came to the US in 1893 at age 10. His parents were Johann Nitsch and Maria Julia Bartsch, daughter of Jacob Bartsch. The elder Johann died sometime between 1885 and 1893.

Jacob was born around 1845, came to the US in 1901 and died in New Jersey. His daughter Maria was born Jan 19, 1861 in Rokus (Rakusy) and died in New Jersey. She also had a brother named Johann who was born around 1869. He came to the US in 1893 with his wife, Susan, and may have settled in Ohio.

This is all the information I have. Since my great grandfather was so young when his father died, he never knew him. I would be very interested to hear from anyone who might have further information regarding the Nitsch & Bartsch families of Rakusy/Rokucz/Rokus. Thanks.

I believe all Nitsch`es are originally located in the area of Käsmark(Kezmarok)settling down there as farmers. Strasza belongs today to Poprad (Poprado)and is not very far away. My ancestors were living for a long time in Roks (Rakusy).
I would recommend to look into the books of the Evangelian churches of Rakusy, Straza, Poprado etc.

after sending first meassage I read your remarks at the bottom. I`m convinced that we are strong related. I was born in Roks and the names you metioned are all very familiar to my ears (f.e.bartsch). At this moment I haven`t time to go deeper but please conatct me. I will look for more details im my "ahnen-passport"(german). May be my ant who is still in the 80-s will have more information. I will just call her today. Please also contact : sfeuerstein -a-t- fastmail -d-o-t- fm . She was born as Sarah Nitsch and lives today in canada.

Jómagam Nitsch-leszármazott vagyok. Dédnagymamám Nitsch Ilona volt, aki 1880 augusztus 14.-én született Mosonban. 1910-ben ment férjhez Decker Gusztávhoz, két lányuk született, Auguszta (1911) és Elfrida (nagyanyám, 1913).
1968 március 31.-én halt meg, Szécsényben. Volt egy öccse, Nitsch József, róla többet nem tudok a nevén kívül. Szüleikrõl többet. Édesapjuk úgyszintén József volt, 1847 október negyedikén született Mosonban, ugyanott halt meg 1887 áprilisában. Felesége Horváth Anna volt, Horváth János és Ulbram Anna lánya. Nitsch József édesapja is a József nevet viselte, õ 1818 körül született Mosonban, 1879 augusztus 30.-án hunyt el ugyanott. Felesége Kronschabl Franciska volt (1817, máj. 9., Moson-1866, július 25.). Szülei Kronschabl György (1774 márc. 31.-1850 szept. 3., édesanyja ? Terézia) és Pauer Jozefa voltak.
