You're welcome,
I don't know where the name came from, perhaps the people in the phone book can tell you. It's not common in Hungary, I could only find 3 other Palomby records, all in the eastern part of the country, one is in Ungvar/Uzhorod which today falls into Ukraine, from the Ellis Island arrival records:

First Name: Bertalan (wife's name Julianna in the US)
Last Name: Palomby
Ethnicity: Hungary Magyar=(Hungarian)
Last Place of Residence:
Date of Arrival: Oct 14, 1902
Age at Arrival: 52y Gender: M Marital Status: M
Ship of Travel: Kroonland
Port of Departure: Antwerp
Manifest Line Number: 0017

The other two from RadixRef:
Name Locality Time frame Type of information Length

Palomby Gábor Nyiregyháza (b. in Nyiregyháza) Between WW1 WW2 Pers. hist. 1 par.

Palomby Lajos Nyiregyháza (b. in Nyiregyháza) Between WW1 WW2 Pers. hist. 1 par.

Description of the publication:
The first part of this book treats various aspects of industry and trade in chapters. The second part features industry and trade people, professionals in one article, each. Our database covers people found in the second part.

In my previous post mistakenly wrote Med, it's actually Mád next to Tokaj the famous wine region.
Hope this helps,
Joseph

I read the history of Mád, where is a written reference about the adjacent town of Tállya, possibly named after Italia, in 1272 settlers arrived from Italy:

"A tatárjárás után olasz=(italian) telepesek érkeztek vidékünkre, erre utal András püspök 1272-es keltezésű levele, melyben visszaadja az egri káptalannak az elődei által a zempléni falvak elidegenített bordézsmáját."

Further looking the map after the phone directory, all the Palombis live in Mád and the nearby towns of Rátka, Szerencs, Tokaj and Mezözombor. Also there is the adjacent town Tállya:
