Chris: Jahn Paulinecz
I am looking for information on Jahn Paulinecz (not sure of spelling) on some records on z on end, also have seen it spelled with a v instead of u.
He was born in 1882 immigrated to US in 1898. His father was also Jahn and died in old country around 1895. I find a Maria Glagola who immigrated here and I am told she came from a town near Mukacevo or a town of Kajdanovc (spelling?). I am told it was near the slovakian and hunganarian borders. Any help would be appreciated.

Chris

I do believe we have corresponded off the board.
Jahn is a transcribing error. Coming thru EI were 51 GLAGOLAs and some were from a village Kajdano/Kojdano. This village is in Bereg megye and at present in Ukraine.
For the old map use : http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910
click on Bereg megye and locate Munkacs (Mukac^evo / Mukachevo) go North-West and there is Kajdano. For the present name use www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm
Do post on all the boards that apply to your surname.
