Ben Pollitzer: Re: Samuel Pollitzer
I have no idea if they are connected, but the fact that samuel pollitzer ended up in australia is interesting.

I am a decendant of Robert Pollitzer who was of Hungarian decent, but was born in vienna.

through an interesting course of events he moved through russia and ended up in Shanghai China, he emigrated to the US in 1949.

His father was adolf pollitzer, who was supposedly (I have no outside confirmation of this) a government worker in vienna, and I know that robert was one of two sons, but I do not know the name of the other.

Janos: Politzers in Transylvania (Romania)
Few members of the Politzer family still living in Transylvania (Romania). It's amazing for me to see the same given names (Samuel, Robert, Adolf) and same business they had (Alcohol and Liquer factories) in Sepsiszentgyorgy and Kezdivasarhely towns from Kovaszna County. Some members of the family were goldsmidth workers and had their small shops in this area.
Other names I met in Registers of Jewish community: Lipot/Lajos - wife Brod, Josef - wife Bedo, Moses - wife ? Regina.
Best wishes,
Janos - from Transylvania

Trevor Edmonds: Re: Samuel Pollitzer
Samuel Politzer published several papers in Australia covering a wide range of topics. These included a review on the Murray River, mining and railways. I have had an artile on him published regarding a proposal to build a crematory. I may also do an artile on his railway work.

Cheers

Trevor

anapiccin: Re: Samuel Pollitzer
I am from Buenos Aires, married to Gustavo Pollitzer. I would like to know about August Pollitzer father of Otto Pollitzer. August was married to Ernestina Fürst in 18... something. They are supposed to be from Viena. I'd appreciate any hint. Thanks.

Susan Jones: Re: Samuel Pollitzer
Greetings,
I am not a relative, but a historian who is interested in Dr. Robert Pollitzer, who died in 1968. Dr Pollitzer worked for the WHO and was a leading figure in public health in China; also a bubonic plague researcher. I would like to be in touch with his descendants, if possible.
Thank you,

Steve Upton: Re: Samuel Pollitzer
The name of the brother of plague expert Dr. Robert Pollitzer may have been Victor. I have seen a typed postal cover sent by registered mail from "Dr. R. Pollitzer" at "N. Manch. Plague Prev. Service," Harbin, China to "Dr. Victor Pollitzer" [note that the name on the postal cover is spelled Victor, not Viktor) at "IX/4 Dreihackeng.10, Vienna, Austria" (note that the city and country were identified on the postal cover in English, rather than as Wien, Oesterreich). The date of mailing of the postal cover at Harbin probably was in late May, 1930. Best regards, Steve Upton
