|FERENC PUSKADI, 88, TOMS RIVER
Ferenc Puskadi, 88, of Toms River died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008, after a prolonged illness.
Born in Budapest, Hungary, he was a pharmacist there until 1956. After the Soviet suppression of the 1956 Revolution, he escaped from Hungary to the United States. He was employed by Johnson & Johnson Corporation as a highly recognized research chemist, receiving a number of awards for his numerous patents.
He was a founding member of the Hungarian Alumni Association, serving for a number of years as a principal of its Hungarian Saturday Classes at Rutgers University.
He was also active in the New Brunswick Magyar Reformed Church.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Helen Puskadi, 2284 Coral Leaf Road, Toms River, NJ 08755-0852, and his son, Paul and two grandchildren living in Florida.
