I am trying to find information on my grandfather Juliu Asztalnok who came through Ellis Island in 1921 from Amati, Roumania. Unfortunatley I am unable to locate Amati, and don't know if it is in Hungary or Roumania. Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The town of Amati is in Romania just a bit South of Satu Mare.
I would think that his name would be Julius. Seems like Stefan was naturalized US citizen in 1937. The numbers on the EI manifest.

Message for John SIBA. Do you know where in Canada your Stephan emigrated to? Mine ended up in a tiny place called PLUNKET, in Saskatoon. Julia SIBA was my great grandmother, she married Stephan MESZAROS. I know Julia had a brother Andrew, who was married in the church the first day it opened. On www.familysearch.org there are alot of SIBA family from Perkata listed on the IGI.
Would like to get in touch in case we are related.

My name is John Siba and I live in Grimsby On. with my wife Lynda. My father was Joseph Siba and my mother was Theresa Nyrifa. I am doing the Siba family tree from my grandfathers side. His name was Stephan he was a brother to Janos and Lena. I would be interested to hear from you. Perhaps we could help fill in the Siba tree.
I am looking to track down an old friend, a Stefan Siba, who was born in Prague, and I beleive lives there now, as a photographer, but who was raised in Croydon, UK. He would be about 35 years old.
I am looking for information on Istvan Nyirfa of Eloszallas, Hungary. He was born on Dec 18, 1889 and had a brother Janos and a sister Theresa. The parents are Istvan and Terez Sudar. The family came to Canada in 1902.
John you might want to look into the Siba clan in Wakaw and Middle Lake area in Saskatchewan. I am a Siba grandson of John Siba. Who immigrated to Canada at the turn of the century. In this area there are Molnars, and Nyrfas as well. I don t know alot of my ancestry however Wakaw Sask might be a place to dig up some history of your past.
Rick thanks for your info in Saskatchewan. I have already exhausted my search there. No one seems to have a link between here and Hungary. I guess I'll just keep trying.
If I could be so bold as to ask you or someone in your family to email me your family lineage it would be very much appreciated. I have tried to put together the Siba family tree and I need help. Thanks again John
I'm just writing to you because I know a SIBA Ignac who attended the University of Economics of Budapest (aka Corvinus). He is from Perkata if I remember well, and used to work for Citibank in Hungary. He is around 35-36 years of age.
