CLAIRE I FRUSTINE: grandmothers family
Hello Site Members, I'm looking for any family from my late grandmother Ana Simala according to Ellis Island
records she arrived in the USA IN 1905 with Mother Verona
from Hungary to meet up with her husband Frank (Ferdinan)
Simala in Lake county,Whiting,Indiana USA. Great uncle Charles Shimala (A "h" was added to the spelling)now aged 98 is the last living on my maternal side,Needless to say I'm looking for family! I've had my mtDNA done and hope to find that perfect family match from my maternal side,I'm
a "t2" and more then willing to share all results would love to know great grandmothers maiden name

My in-laws are all from Whiting and Hammond, Indiana. Their last name is "Shimala", which appears to be the phoenetic version of "Simala". We're not sure if they are related, but it would be an incredible coincidence if they were not family. My wife's grandfather was Stanley Shimala, who passed in 1991.

My wife and I (and her parents) currently live in Sugar Land, Texas, but they are all originally from Whiting, Indiana. Have you found anything on this subject since your original post?

My maiden name is Trisha Simala. I am from Stockdale. PA. My grandfather was Karl Simala. When he came over to Ellis Island, They may have changed to Charles Simala. Not sure if the "h' was in Simala, but my mother said they pronounced it like that back in the country. Heard that my grandfather had a lot of relatives in Indiana & Chicago.

Trying to get information on my Grandmother who was born in Chyzney, Orava, Poland or Czecho. Sep 8 1878.?. Either Marie,Maria or Mary Helegda. I have a copy of a bank book from Hitelbank that has her mother as Verona Mary married Wendel Albertusiak my Grandfather in Chicago he originaly is from Jablonka.
