| Jon Stigner: Steckinger | | My ancestor, Fredericus Steckinger, and his brother? Joannes Wolfgangus Steckinger, first appear in 1748 in Swalmen, Limburg, Holland. A relative assures me that our surname uderwent a name change from Steckinger to Stigner after leaving the Alsace region. My research shows that the Steckinger family name disappears from the Alsace in the mid 1700's, and that there are a few Steckingers living today in Hungary, Argentina, The USA and Germany. I would be most grateful if any of these Steckingers can give me any information regarding their family history, especially if they should have any information regarding Fredericus or Joannes Wolfgangus Steckinger.
