Marc: Szep family

I am looking for information on the "Szep" Family of Kiraly Darocz now Craidarolt, Romania.

My G-G-G grandfather, was one of six brothers, known collectively as the "Szep Fiuk" or "handsome boys". One of these six had a son, named Joszef Szep, who was a fabric dyer in Kiraly Darocz my great great grandfather.

Joszef Szep(b-1860ish)married Hanna Weinberger. They had 10 children, 6 boys and 5 of whom settled in the US and one that did not. They had 4 girls; two who died early in life, two perished at Auschwitz. Both Joszef and Hanna died in Kiraly Darocz in 1942/43.

Their children's names were as follows:

Gyory
Lajos
Jeno
Serene
Alex
Odon b-1903 the youngest
two girls names unknown

I would appreciate hearing form anyone with any relevant information.

The Ellis Island website is listing several SZEPs as coming from Kiralydarocz. Some distant relatives, maybe?

The town of Kiralydarocz falls into the old Szatmar megye.

Sorry, but I havn t any information about the Szep fanily..
My parents divorced when I have 2 years old...
Just I know my grandmother name..(my father mother)Szep Emma, she living in Romania, in Görgényszentimre, she die young,when my father have 3 years old...
We have a cousin in Bucharest, but we dont keep the contact, just I now its exist.Sorry.
I try out a find about my family, maybee in the locality wher she live, when I have the time Im come up to Görgényszentimre, maybe I find moore in the church.

Gondolom irhatom magyarul, a nagyanyam Szep Emma, Gorgenyszentimren lakott, sajnos nagyon fiatalon meghalt, a dednagyapam a Don kanyarnal eltunt...
Egy nagybatyja Szep JozsefBukarestbe koltozott, ez a csalad leszarmazottai elnek ott, Szep vagy Sep neven szerepelnek.Sajnos nem ismerem oket, csak tudom hogy leteznek.

Keresem szépnagyanyám születési helyét!
SZÉP ERZSÉBET 1920. szeptember 16-án halt meg (Nagy-)Perkátán (Fejér m.) A r.kat. plébánián nincs születési hely, az államiban legalább a szülök neve megvan: SZÉP György és AMBRUS Teréz (hátha ez a két név másnak a családfáján is elöfordul!)
Házasságot kötött 1852.nov.03. Herczegfalva (ma Mezőfalva) Férje: Pulai Péter(1835.Perkáta-megh:1915.Perkáta).
SZÉP Erzsébet 1836-ban született (max.plusz/minusz egy év), mert házasságkötésénél 16 éves, halálozásánál 84 éves.
A házasságkötésnél a tanuk nevén kivül nincs plusz info!
Perkáta környékén már keresgéltem mindenfelé a SZÜLETÉSÉT/keresztelését/, de nem találtam.........
(Igy lett meg a házasságkötése is, egyre nagyobb körben kerestem azt is)
Akár a szomszédos megyék v.melyikében is születhetett! Vagy még távolabb....? Hátha van valakinek ötlete!

My husband's great grandfather was Jozsef Szep (b. 1880) who immigrated to the US from Austria/Hungary in 1901. He came in at Galveston, Texas with his wife Teresa and was going to his father in law's house (Daniel Webel) who immigrated the same year. Other than US census records, this is all I have. His son William was my husband's grandfather. William owned a Texaco station in San Antonio, Texas. Any help would be appreciated.

Did you locate his "Galveston" manifest? Did he come thru Ellis Island? www.ellisislandrecords.org
You need to know his precise place of birth to proceed with the research. Was he naturalized citizen? Did he have social security numbers? http://ssdi.rootsweb.org
There should be a draft registration form, state marriage application, church marriage record that should also have his place of birth.
