Dear Joyce Sousa,
The Tobis family you are looking for is from Klukno (now Kluknava) Szpes, Slovakia. Records are confusing because of the Austro Hungary Empire. This is my family... Tobis. They immigrated from Klukno to United, PA to work in the coal mines. Some of the first Tobis arrived in the late 1890's. I have done extensive genealogy research.

Hi!

My name is Éva Tóbis. My family is Tóbis too. We live in Hungary, in Felsõzsolca. It is near Miskolc. We have got relatives in a lot of small villages in Hungary, but we don't know another and foreign Tóbis in abroad. We know there was some man who moved to Usa, to Canada, or to Slovakia ( for example Rudi) about 30-40years ago, but we haven't heard of them.
I hope I can find some relatives in abroad!

No Rudi TOBIS in SK's phone site www.zoznamst.sk Do you know where he lived?
I find TOBIS in Poprad, Stara Lesna, Slovinky, Myslava and Kosice.

Hi,

I know Rudi doesn't live in Sk. I beleieve he lives in North of America. He is my grandfather's nephew. My granfather was Ferenc ( Frank) and he lived in Viszló, in Hungaray. I think Rudi was born in America. The old people said Rudi was in Hungary once more than 20 years ago. I don't remember it , because I was about 1 year old.
