jack tomcho: tomco
Hello,
I am researching information regarding the last name tomco'.
Tomco was changed to Tomcho in the USA aroung 1912.
Jan Tomco emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1888 from......?
His wife Josepine Kuscik at the same time.
Jan worked in the coal mines and died in 1925 is Scranton Pennsylvania. Josephine died in 1939 also in Scranton Pa.
Any information would be appreciated and a area or town would be especially welcomed.
Thanks
John Tomcho

TOMCHO in English; TOMCSO in Hungarian; TOMC^O in Slovak.
Were your ancestors Byzantine Catholic?

Were your ancestors naturalized citizens? Have you located their manifest? What does 1930 census say for Josephine?
27 KUSZIKs, 8 KUSCIKs, 50 TOMCSOs, and 2 TOMCZOs thru Ellis Island. You might want to take a look at the manifests. Family went to family, to a place where same language/dialect was spoken.

There is no way to narrow down a location. The childrens baptismal certificates might provide a clue.
