Kathryn: George Russell Tordy

I am the daughter of George "Russ" Tordy. He was born in NYC 9/3/27 to George Tordy and Rose Kathryn Tordy. I am looking for his two step sisters or any other living relative that knew my father. I believe his stepsister Betty lives now in Florida and is a teacher somewhere. He had an uncle by the name of Henry. Please send me an e-mail message if you get this message. tordy is an unusual name. my great grandfather was james tordy who lived in arkansas and died in about 1900. i have been hunting any of his family and have found none. if you know of anything of james tordy, please let me know.

Most tévedtem ide.Nem tudtam, hogy ilyen is létezik. Én csak a közvetlen családomat ismerem, mint Tordy família. Soha nem hallottam arról, hogy élnek-e még az országban mások is ilyen vezetéknévvel. Bocs, egy kivétel azért van.
Ő pedig nem más, mint Tordy Géza színész. A mi családunk is 'szaporodik' nemsokára két fővel az öcsém részéről, úgyhogy családnév ezen az ágon biztos fennmarad még.

Kathy...i was in the navy with a Russ Tordy...we are the same age...i can not help you with your search but if he is the same person i knew, i visited his home in Great Neck after the war in 1946...his mother had remarried to a man named Smith...i recall a younger step-brother...Russ was the most wonderful physical specimen i ever met...Joel Tasman

Dear Mr. Tasman, It has been a long time since I checked to see if I received any response. I confirmed with my mother that the Russ Tordy you were with on the USS Saginaw Bay in the war 1946 was indeed my father. My father passed on March 24, 1987. He had made a career in the New York State Police. He eventually retired as a Major in charge of the Western New York region. He married and had 4 children. Three sons and me, his only daughter. I must agree with you that my father, to me, was a wonderful man and one of the best role models a person could have the pleasure to come into aquaintance with. Thank you so much for your reply.
