Greetings! My name is Sarah Seamore-Goodman. I have recently discovered that my Hungarian grandmother's maiden surname was Vasarhelyi and her mother's maiden surname was Dresher. If your grandmother had social security numbers or was naturalized citizen than those forms would have the necessary information that you need to proceed in your search.

There is a town Vasarhely in Zemplen megye which now it is Trhoviste, Slovak Republic. To locate a town in SK use :

The SK's phone site is listing a VAS'ARHELYI (Slovak spelling)in Michalovce and Petrikovce. That is the same area code as Trhoviste. This is not to suggest that this is the place of birth for your ancestor. This is only a tidbit associated with your surname. www.zoznamst.sk

I know that there was a Vasarhelyi origin in Pecs, hungary. Have you heard the name Vasarely? He was a famous artist coming from Pecs.

erdospal: Vásárhelyi László kunágotai kúriája az 1910-es években
Erdős Pál vagyok Geszt községből, Békés megyéből.

Keresem az egykor Arad, Békés és Csanád vármegyében birtokos kézdivásárhelyi Vásárhelyi család ma is élő tagjait, leszármazottait.

A család Békés megyében birtokos volt Csanádapáca, Elek, Kunágota és Lőkösháza községekben.

Ez a négy falu az 1921. évi trianoni szerződésig Arad vármegye része volt, és csak 1921 után kerültek Békés megyéhez.

Felteszek egy képet, melyen kézdivásárhelyi Vásárhelyi László kunágotai kúriája látható, a kép az 1910-es években készült.

Álmos: Vásárhelyi Vilma
Further to my previous message (under Fiebeisz family):
Vásárhelyi Vilma (Friebeisz Miklósné) was born in Csernő, Arad vármegye (province or county) on Aug 19th, 1858.
Vásárhely means “Marketplace”. There were several towns by this name in Hungary. Vilma was a descendent of the Kézdi-vásárhelyi family. Kézdivásárhely was located in Háromszék vármegye in Erdély (Transylvania); today it is called “Tîrgu Secuiesc” in Romania.
The Kézdi-vásárhelyi Vásárhelyi family coat-of-arms from Nagy Iván’s “Hungarian Families” is attached.

Tobb mint ket evvel kesobb olvasom az uzenetet a radix forum weboldalan.
Az en nagyapam 'kezdivasarhelyi Vasarhelyi Zoltan' volt. Baranyaban, Terihegyen elt idos koraban.

Hogy pontosan hol szuletett es elt fiatalon nem tudom, mert mar kis koromban meghalt.

Kivancsi vagyok, hogy van-e rokoni kapcsolat Laszlo es a nagyapam kozott.

kvasarhely: Vasarhelyi relatives
Looking for relatives last heard of living in MURES county in Romania. I am in the US. I would just like them to know that there are living relatives here in the United States who are interested to know how they are and hope that they are well. A kunágotai kúriában nőtt fel édesapám, Vásárhelyi László a dédapám volt.

Üdv!

Nevem Vásárhelyi Tamás. Apai ágon a nagypapám Dr Kézdi Vásárhelyi Vásárhelyi József volt aki emlékeink szerint 1970-80 környékén halt meg (74 éves volt) Jelenleg az új köztemetőben nyugszik.
Réges régen a Báthori utcában laktak a Parlament mellett.

Remélem tudtam valakinek segíteni.
Ha minden igaz akkor van itthon egy családfám is, csak a mama nem emlékszik, hogy hova is tette...
