| JGalovic: Re: Bukovecky | | not sure this will help but here goes...my grandmother is listed as coming thru ellis island on December 6 1912 on the Carpathia. She is listed as Anna Szanka from Kis Rakocz, but her real maiden name was Salko or Savko. Kis Rakocz is a short distance, a couple of miles, from Nagy Rakocz. Nagy Rakocz is the Hungarian name for Velikiy Rakovec. On the same ship, line 13, is a Michael Polyak from Nagy Rakocz. Both were going to Wharton NJ. His family settled in Mt Hope NJ, and i knew some of his decendants. There is probably a good chance that he was related to your Annastatia. he was listed as 44 years old in 1912 which would put his birth around the year 1868 |
