wolf6656: Sabordash
I am looking for a town called Sabordash. This is how the town name was recorded in 1916.
It was said to be in Russia, although that was to fool the authorities and prevent incarceration in a work camp. The ethnic heritage is Ukranian, or Carpatho-Rus. (Ruznak).
Any clues? The name is Kolomeitz.

Did you try locating a town with www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm
Carpatho-Rus / Rusnak/ Rusin/ Ruthenian
www.tccweb.org
www.c-rs.org
Up to 1918 it was Austria-Hungary:

No one by the surname KOLOMEITZ came thru Ellis Island. The spelling does not seem "Rusnak" but sort of German or Americanized version. Take a look at KOLOMEJECs that came thru Ellis Island.
What sort of US paper do you have with this spelling of a surname and a name of a town?
