My last name is Schoenwiesner, and I am searching for any persons with this or a similar surname, such as Schonvizner, Schonwieszner, etc. The RadixIndex database shows over a dozen, with a large percentage of them listed as coming from towns in Saros Megye or the adjoining county of Szepes Megye.
My grandfather Adolph was born in Budapest in 1883, my great-grandfather Jakob was born in Criciova (Kricsova) Romania in 1852, and my great-great-grandfather Abraham lived in Criciova. They were all Jewish. While any information about Schoenwiesner's from anywhere would be most welcome, I am also looking to see if this surname may have originally come from the town in Saros Megye called Schoenwies in German (or Senviz in Hungarian and Krasna Luka in Slovakian).
Thank you.
