| Hi Cousin Peter,
My name is Laura Hoepfner and my mother's maiden name was Hedda Aufricht (1928 - 1993, born in Ostrava, came to the U.S. in 1939). Her father was Richard Aufricht(1895-1962), he had a brother Emil(1897-1955), a brother Joseph (Peppo)(1905-1965) and a sister Greta(1903-1977). Their parents were Moritz Aufricht and Irene Katz. Moritz Aufricht had a wife before Irene. We do not know her name. They had two daughters, Viola and Elsa. It was rumored that they had a son also, but we have no information on this. Elsa Aufricht married a man named Carl, who was a baker by profession, but we do not know his last name. Elsa and Carl had a son named Jiri who was a lawyer. None of my great uncles (Emil and Joseph) or my great aunt (Greta) had any children. My Grandfather Richard only had my mother Hedda. My mother Hedda only had me. So my two children and I are the last of the Aufricht relatives in my family. Karla Essner and I e-mail each other, she is a wonderful source of Aufricht information.
