Jim: Re: Fegyverneki2010/11/03, 12:49:27
Dear Balazs,
Thanks, again for your reply. I believe that I am related to Fegy. Piroska. Sajohidveg & Kesznyten are very close to each other and my father often talked about growing up there. Here is the genealogy as I know it from what my father told me before he died. I am the 5th Fegy. Imre in my heritage line that I know of.

Fegy. Imre & Forgacs Zsuzsanna (dates unknown) had 3 sons --- Imre (1866-1939), Jozsef (dates unknown), and Andras(1882-1957). Imre married Korodi Piroska (she died in 1944). They had 3 children, Imre (1899-1979 --my grandfather) and 2 daughters - Esther and Piroska.
Joszef had a daughter, Piroska - I believe this is the one who married Fegy. Dezso.
Andras had 3 children, Andras(1914-1962), Fernec(?-?), and Juliana(1920-1989?). Andras had a son by the same name, Andras(1947-2002), who had a son by the same name again, Andras, born in 1973. We have been in contact once over the internet last year, He lives in Miskolc.

I am familiar with the Ellis Island members. Both Fegy. Imre's are my ancestors. They are my great grandfather and grandfather. I know this from stories my father and grandfather told me. My grandfather went to the USA as a boy with his dad and returned to Hungary because of World War I. I'm not sure why Riszejocz is listed as their place of residence. I wonder if it might not be the port of Rijeka, in modern day Croatia. Spelling of place names often changed with nationality changes. Also, USA immigration records often altered spelling of names and places and sometimes from misunderstanding, and sometimes for convenience they used the nearest port city in that country. It is an interesting puzzle though.

You also mention a Fegy, Kalman who was single and died without children. I came across that name in www.hadifogoly.hu/search - Hadifogoly -adatbazis. It is a war cemetery list of some sort, but my Hungarian is poor and I can't understand it all yet. The list shows 6 names on it. His mother is shown as Nemeth Julianna and he was born 1911.05.15. It is not shown who his father was, or where he was born.

May I ask who you are and your research? Are you related to a Fegyverneki family too?
I have posted some of my family tree on www.myheritage.com and welcome you to view it.

I look forward to more.
Jim
