I'm not sure if we are connected. I thought the spelling of my mother's name was 'Andreasi' but I could be mistaken. She came from a small village somewhere around Czikszereda. Her father was Louis Andreasi and her mother was Therese Szabo. She had a little brother named Francis who was killed in the second world war at age 18. I believe she also had an Aunt Barbara. My mother's name is Rosalia (Roszika) Brigitta Andreasi. She was born January 11, 1923. If you have any information, it would be so very much appreciated. I would like so much to know more about where my mother came from. Today is Saturday June 13, 2009. 	rick: Re: Nagypakai Andrásy (Andrási, András ) család After searching what available information we have on my grandfather, Istvan andrassy (Stephen Andrase), I do not believe we are connected. My Grandfather emmigrated to the USA from a village named NagyBegemy. His father was named Gregor I believe, and he married Marie Estock. Istvan emmigrated in 1908 I believe, traveling from Hungary to Germany to the US. I am sorry I could not be of help to you in your search. 	navratil Dédnagyapám Andrási Károly, Barza. Felmenőiről szeretnék tudni. Első feleségétől 4 gyermeke született, Andrási Matild, Károly, Erzsébet, Rozália. Felesége meghalt, Második felesége a dédnagymamám Bugyi Mária Kunágota. Gyerekeik: Andrási Viktoria, Magdolna, Éva,Terézia, Margit, Ilona. Együttélésükkor született Ilona és Terézia akiket Bugyi Mária előző férjéről anyakönyveztek Miklós névre (az első két gyerek születése után halt meg előző férje Miklós János.) She was born in 1923 in Jakabfalva, Transylvania, Romania. Her father was Louis Andreasi and her mother was Theresa Szabo. She had a brother Francis who died in the second world war. She had an aunt Barbara and other aunts whose names I do not know. Would be so nice to know if there are still any relatives alive anywhere. Good luck with your search. My mother comes from one that she told me was connected to 5 villages - KaszonImper, KaszonJakabfalva, KaszonAltiz, and the other two I'm not sure of their names. Possibly Kaszonujfalu for one of the other ones. Apparently in Harghita county near Csikszereda. I think the rumanian name is now 'Plaeisii de Jos'? And Csikszereda is now 'Miercurea Ciuc'? 	Janos: Kaszonjakabfalva Dear Jasmine, Yes, one of them is (Kaszon-)Jakabfalva / Iacobeni from Harghita County - belonging to Kaszonaltiz / Plaiesii de Jos. This will make more easier to search it. The Parish registers are kept by Harghita County Archives from Csikszedera / Miercurea Ciuc. Not very frecvent, but I have works there, so maybe I will be able to copy for you the books, also to make a short visit to the village, if you wish to find eventualy living relatives. I can't believe that someone I have never met from the other side of the world is extending a hand to help me out. You have no idea what this means to me. My mother's family was Roman Catholic. I never met my grand-parents. I was born in Canada, because my mother, like so many others, was displaced by the second world war and was never able to return home. I appreciate the time you will be taking to look into the records for me in Harghita county. Your english is very good. I have been using an internet translator to translate messages from Radix but it is a little difficult. Thank you for answering my e-mails and helping me. I look forward to hearing from you again.
