| kezdi: Re: JOSEF KONDAS | Lola, borders, countries, place names changed, but Fornagyfalu is/was not listed anywhere in Hungary, Czechoslovakia or Slovakia.
It could be a misspell Forna-Torna, Fornagy-Tornagy, or could be Nagy=Big, falu=village in Hungarian.
Before the early 1900s there was 4 Nagy/falu=Big/village in Hungary, which today falls into Slovakia (Czechoslovakia from 1920), either of them listed as Fornagyfalu on any of the Hungarian Censuses from 1869-1900. Take a look of their official names per RADIX in 1913 and the Counties they belonged, maybe you'll see something familiar:
Place County(1913) District(1913) Current country
Nagyfalu Árva Alsókubini Slovakia
Ipolynagyfalu Hont Ipolynyéki Slovakia
Losoncznagyfalu Nógrád Losonczi Slovakia
Nyitranagyfalu Nyitra Nyitrai Slovakia |
