I am really trying to find out who holds the records for Licince for 1860-1899. The Mormons only have it up to 1787-1859, so does the Archives in Kosice. The Archives in Kosice could not tell me where the records are for 1860-1899. Hucin might have them,I am waiting to hear back from them. Any ideas??? Thanks again Zlatica. However, I do have his birth and death records (1828-1907), and they show "Also Falu" as the BIRTH PLACE and "Licince" as the PLACE OF DEATH. Furthermore, he owned watermills in 6 villages in Gomormegye. His second wife's name was Julianna Czimer. They had one child ....Istvan 1811 Andras Arvay `s second wife was Katalin Marsovszky they had 4 known children. Andras Arvay died in Felso Falu Gömör Megye, Slovakia in 1854. There is no grave for him. Katalin Marsovszky died in Jolsva Taploza Gemer Megye Slovakia in 1866. There is no grave for her. My Grandfather moved form Hungary with his parents (John and Mary Arvai) when he was only 1 year old. They moved to Cleveland, Ohio and then moved again to Plant City, Florida. My grandfather changed the spelling of our last name from Arvai to Arvay. I have no idea where in Hungary they may be from. Is that a common sir name? and does it mean Orphan? Take a look in www.ellisislandrecords.org Was your ancestor naturalized citizen? I have heard that my Na'mom (great-grand mother was some how related to the house of Habsburg? not sure. I know she was born in Slavenia. My Uncle Johnny Arvai is a hero in America fighting for freedom as a Green Beret in the Army we are Christians and my Grandparents Were Catholic Christians. I know that my second cousins, also Arvai-Nagy, live in Heves. We had the same great grandfather. Unfortunately, I have no more info about them.
