| Teresa Asman: Aszmann/Vemend Hungary | hello, this message is for :Mariajewell 123, in reply to your message about your Grandparents last name of Aszman.
I have their names on a list of possible relations to my family in Vemend.
Your Anna I beleive was born Aug.12/1881 in Vemend, she was 18yrs old and married a man named Gyorgy in Feb.01/1899 in Vemend.
The story you tell sounds like mine, my father died and had never spoken about his father either, and my uncle who was born in Vemend (still alive) doesn't have much to say about his parents either, he says he was too young to remember being in Hungary. You see my G.G. Grandparents were Joannes Aszman and Catharina Szelig (not sure where from)they had my Great Grandfather Jozsef Aszman in March 15/1878, now, your Anna Aszman I am guessing( because I have no mention of this) could be my Great Grandfathers sister! The dates sound like they would be brother and sister??And she is mentioned along with the family, but not in any specific order.
My Great G.Father married Erzsebet Schmidt had my Grandfather Jozsef Aszmann b.Dec.20/1902 (or july 16/1902 I have 2 records with 2 different dates)(by now the name has 2 N's on the end!) now he had a brother named Ferencz,b.Sept.21/1897, Eva, b.Nov.03/1900, Maria,b.June 07/1905 and Anna,b.Feb.03/1909.
My GrandFather maried Erzebet Poch in 1927, they had 2 children, the oldest was Anna, b.in 1928,and Josef,b.1929,my grandfather then left in 1930 for Cananda to find a job and land,he changed the last name to Asman, my grandmother followed in early 1931 pregnant with my father who was born in 1932, in Montreal Canada. My Aunt Anna died at 16 yrs(hit by a car) and my uncle still lives in the east (Ontario)and my father joined the navy and moved to British columbia,he died 6 yrs ago,and my sister and I still live in BC, and my brothers live in Alberta.
I hope some of the history rings a bell and it would be nice to meet a relative! If there is anything else I can help you with that I might know please e-mail me!
Teresa Asman included is a picture of my Grandfather(whom I never met)and the others are self explanitory. |
