	Gretchen: Bakotic Please forgive me for taking your time to ask this question, but I so need help in finding my gg grandfather VUKON BAKOTIC'S family from Czechoslovia, he was born 1894 and came to America where he married my gg grandmother Mary. 	Zlatica : Re: Bakotic Gretchen No first name Vukon in Slovak or Czech Republic. As you might know the former country of Czechoslovakia in 1993 separated into Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. Take a look in Ellis Island website as there were 29 BAKOTICs and they seem to be from former Yugoslavia. She is doing great, and for that I'm so thankful. My Bakotic's were from Yugoslavia as well, and haven't had much lucky finding anyone else with this name. Where did your grandfather William live? My great grandfather Yukon Bakotic who also went by the name Bill, ended up in California near Nevada. Can't wait to hear back from you. 	Dorothy Bakotic-Creasey: Vukon Bakotic Vukon Bakotic and his family are residing in Chester, Ca and Portola Ca. I was adopted my mother is Louise A Bakotic by birth and my aunt is Mary Baotic I intend to go to Portola as I look identical to my mother from all the pictures I have seen. You said that you were adopted and that your birth mother's last name was Bakotic? I am also adopted, my birth mother's last name was also Bakotic, though the first name was not Louise or Mary. Though my name (both before and after adoption) is Mary Louise. 	joyffree: Re: Loyalton Ca Most of the family is from Loyalton. I was born in the hospital there. At the time it only had 6 beds. I doubt it is much bigger now. I did recieve a copy of a newspaper from portola, that is how i know the clan resides there. Most of them from my research have left loyalton and moved there. It is not that much further. 	Mary: Re: Loyalton Ca I was actually born in Oroville, but my mother was supposedly living in Loyalton, at least until the time of her marriage, which was when I was about 5 years old. I was born in 1964, went home from the hospital as a foster child with a couple from Goodyears Bar. When my mother married (or shortly before or after, I am not exactly sure of the dates) she signed the papers authorizing my adoption and my foster parents adopted me. I don't know for certain, but I am assuming that after her marriage my mother probably did have other children, so the chances of my having half brothers and/or sisters out there are pretty good. I know that my mother was still pretty young when she had me and because of that I had always hesitated to try to make contact with her and her husband and any other family out there simply because I didn't know how such contact might effect her life, but now that I am in my 40's with kids of my own, I am really interested in trying to find out more about my birth family.		2006/07/03, 05:07:29 #: 200607102 válasz erreszerkesztés moderálandó? profil

	joyffree: goodyears bar My adoptive parents ,who also were foster parents, lived in downeville calif. They had Donovan (who is actually my cousin) Mary is his mother she was 18 if I am correct at his time of birth in 1967 - she signed the adoption papers and let Mr& Mrs. Dibiase adopt him. They had me also in thier foster care along with my mother she was eventually sent to a girls school. According to all paper work I found and located she did not consent to my adoption. I was approx 3 at the time she was pregnant and with my understanding from the letters back with my birth father Ronald Creasy. goodyear bar isnt that far - we had the kennel on the corner coming into downeville. The hall family I know is somehow tied into my moms mess. I just havent figured out how yet. I know that my mother (I have her final letters) never wanted too let me go. I have thought about just going to town. Not asking for anything just letting it happen. 	Mary: Re: goodyears bar Ok the more I see, the weirder this whole situation gets. There just seems to be so much in common in all of this. You and Donovan and I ending up in foster/adoptive homes in the same area (the two towns are right next door to each other pretty much), our mothers all being fairly young when we were born. I was told my mother may actually have been as young as 14 when I was born, Donovan's was 18, and since you mentioned her going to a girls school after she had you, I am assuming your mother was probably in her mid teens as well and the fact that my first and middle names are the names of your mother and his. Seems that a lot of similarities exist in this family. I know my mother didn't actually put me up for adoption until I was around 5. Until then I was in foster care with the people who eventually became my adoptive parents. We moved from California to Alaska when I was just 2, and I lived in Alaska most of the time until I finally left for good in 2001. I am living in Florida now. Now here is a question for you. If you and Donovan lived in Downeville with your adoptive family, did you or they know a Cy & Diane Rollins and their family who also lived in the area? 	Becky: Re: Bakotic My Grandmother Mary and Vukon Bakotic divorced in the early 1930's. They had two daughters ... Rebecca and Betty (my Mother). The two kept tabs with their father off and on unti his death in January 1970. Vukon (William) remarried another woman named Mary who already had children. He never had any other biological children other than my mother and Aunt. He was Yugoslavian and arrived in the USA in 1911. So, those of you inquiring about relatives must be asking about his second marriage. I know his wife stayed in Loyalton until her death and he is also buried there. Good luck in your search. Do you know if he adopted his second wife's children? Because my mother did carry the same last name he did. Then again she could have been a cousin or neice or sister or who knows. Hopefully it will be of some help.* When I was searching Bakotic family members in California this evening as well as Winegar (which is my mother's married name) I came across these entries. I saw that Vukon's first wife was listed with the last name of Langdon in one of the emails. Becky had said that Vukon and Mary (1) had two children Rebecca and Betty. This is what I found when I looked up their names. Now Becky said Vukon and the first wife had two daughters only and that he and his second wife (also Mary) had no children together but that she brought children to the marriage. This might change that based on the info you both gave. She stated that his daughters were Rebecca and Betty (her mother). You stated two daughters as well, Rebecca Louise born in 1923 and Mary Jane. Here we see Rebecca L. and Betty J (but not Mary Jane that I could find so far) born a year apart and both with the mother's maiden name of Langdon. Name: Betty J Bakotic Birth Date: 27 May 1924 Gender: Female Mother's Maiden Name: Langdon Name: Rebecca L Bakotic Birth Date: 8 Jan 1923 Gender: Female Mother's Maiden Name: Langdon Birth County: Sierra Then I searched for the names of my mother, Joy's and Donovan's and came up with these results for Joy's mother Louise and my mother Helen. Also for a Joseph. Note that in all three cases, the mother's maiden name is listed as Ward, which to me would imply that the three may very well have been siblings. Which would in fact mean that Joy and I would be cousins. I couldn't find any mention of the Mary who is supposed to be Donovan's mother though. Carpenter, which was the birth father's last name) Name: Donavan S Bakotic Birth Date: 14 Sep 1967 Gender: Male Mother's Maiden Name: Bakotic Birth County: Sierra Name: Dorothy C Creasey Birth Date: 11 Feb 1968 Gender: Female Mother's Maiden Name: Bakotic Birth County: Sierra And under the search for Bakotic & Winegar (my mother's married name as I said) I get these results.... Name: Robert L Winegar Birth Date: 22 May 1971 Gender: Male Mother's Maiden Name: Bakotic Birth County: Kern Name: Michael P Winegar Birth Date: 28 Sep 1976 Gender: Male Mother's Maiden Name: Bakotic Birth County: Plumas Just a little something to look at while I dig deeper. I know many of the names metioned. My adoptive parents names were Mike and Diane Wartburg. I see that this thread is over a year old, but hopefully to get a response.
