| Mick: Re: Beno / Zipoy | Andy, your ancestral village Leles is situated in area of eastern Slovakia, some 70 miles east from town Kosice. This village is settled mostly Hungarian speaking people, who are roman-catholics, but there live a lot of greek-catholic people and protestants. This village is famous for its very old monastery.
This monastery was one of only a few places in Hungarian kingdom, where was possible verify a documents or made a copy of documents.
I visited this village several weeks ago. There live some Beno families in Leles and adjacent village Polany.
Do you know what religion were your Beno and Urban ancestors? They might be Lutherans as well. There are two churches in Lelesz, roman-catholic and protestant church in Lelesz. Greek-catholics from Lelesz belong to mother greek-catholic church in village Polany.
