zlatica: Re: Info
Dear Dr. Jan Buleca

You will need to locate a name of a town for your ancestors in order to proceed with the research.

Check out Ellis Island website as there are BULECAs and BULECZAs that passed thru that port to America.

Two phone listings for Buleca in Slovak Republic's phone book.

Zlatica: Re: Info
Dear Zlatica, thank you very much for your answer. It is difficult to specialize the town of residence of my ancestors, because they lived on many places. On Ellis Islands I have found lot of them.Do you know something about the Radix data?I dont know, what can I get from this database.I am looking for the official documents, which can be cited and used as serious,no just internet data.
Thank you once more

Dear Jan,

I have this website which might be of some use to you :
www.bogardi.com/gen/index.shtml

The LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed the church records of several European countries, so if you know the village and religion of your ancestors you can order the films and gather ancestral information off of them.

A website to familiarize yourself with church wording :

valeriebeck: Re: Buleca
Dear Jan,

I believe we corresponded a while back. My gggrandfather Peter Szuchar was married to Maria BULECA. They had three children, Julia who married Nicholas Yackulic, Janos who married Maria Benyak and Andrew, about whom we know nothing. They lived in Lehocz,(Lemkivtsi) Ungmegye Hungary, now in Ukraine. Peter was from Horlyo,(Khudl'ove) and Maria Buleca was born in Czertesz(Chertizh). Have you found anything else about your family or which villages in the then Hungary they were from? Let's keep in touch. I am not finding this to be a common name. Do you have family stories to share?

Aloha,
Valerie Richards

Jan Buleca: Re:
dear valerie,
thank you for your letter.I have no information about Maria Buleca, but I was looking to the map for location of Certiz in Ukraina. It is between Uzghorod and Mukacevo, close to this place was my grandfather Jan Buleca teaching in his youth.I dont think,it is just a coincidence, but I cant find the connection.Try to take a look to my family web page, maybe it will help you. There are all the data I have (or most of them:)

Zlatica : Re: map
Jan

I was notified about your post to Valerie so I want to give you some websites of maps just in case you do not have them.

www.jewishgen.org/ShtetlSeeker/loctown.htm (mapquest)
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910 either Ung or Bereg megye

http://users.erols.com/mwhite28/austhung.htm

I do have a piece of an old map of this region and the town is spelled C'ertez' and here are the following villages around it : Derenovka, Chudlovo, Solotvyna, Seredne, Dankovce, Ciganovce. So than on the old map it is in Ung megye but it does not show up as Csertez but as Ungcsertesz.
Csiganyos is Ciganovce.
The spelling of the villages is in Slovak language as this map is from the former Czechoslovakia era.

Jan Buleca: Re: map
Dear Zlatica,
thank you very much for your answer and also for perfect maps.It will be helpful for all the relatives I know:)
The city I have found on the map was the same like in the map you recommended to me,but the search was hard and time consuming.Via google I have found it at present ukrainian maps, but it was very small on the map.So thank you very much once more.I want to ask you about the sources of Radix.I have found my name and also the names of other relative family names, but Im not sure,if after I will pay for the documents,it will be serious,it means searchable in archives or anywhere else in the books or something like this.
I want to ask you also for CDs of hungarian magazine Turul.Dont you know,if they are available online?
Thank zou in advance

Zlatica : Re: map
Your welcome.
Sorry to hear that you went thru so much trouble of locating the village of your ancestor. If I would have known that, I would have posted it sooner.

As you might know, the LDS-Mormons (Family History Center) have filmed the church records of Slovakia but being that this village is in Ukraine, well you might need to hire a researcher to do the research for you.

www.centroconsult.sk
www.imhrehun.com

I am correct to assume that you are living in Kosice, SK?
I know of someone (not personally) in Kosice that does a research.

As for the Radix sources you are inquiring, I believe that you should contact Mr. Janos Bogardi at janos -k-u-k-a-c- bogardi -p-o-n-t- com
He is included as a genealogist in the www.centroconsult.sk

Tamara: Re: Bulecza family
My father-in-law, Janos Bulecza was from Munkacs (Mukachevo). He died in 1962, and he was a successful businessman in Kaposvar and Budapest. I was always interested in his family, but never met anyone from the Bulecza side.
