S. Cisch
Interested in finding out more about my surname and heritage. There are not many Cisches - so just thought I'd throw a message out there and see if there are any others. Who knows - we may be distance relatives . . .

Cisch: Are you my Family?
I was wondering if there is anyone out there with the last name Cisch, like mine. I have a feeling that there are more of us out there then we realize...since I found 12 on the Ellis island website...none of which are my great grandparents which should have shown up. Anyways, Please contact me if you think we are related. My email is ncischart -k-u-k-a-c- hotmail -p-o-n-t- com ;)

Thanks,
NC

Hi NC-
Where are you from? I have family in California and Florida - but that's it. I'm not really sure where we come from - and I think our last name may have been changed when my great-grandfather came over from Europe.

Theodor Cisch: Re: Are you my Family?
Hi!

The name Cisch is in Germany rather seldom. It is and has been written in several ways. So it comes, that relatives last name is or has been written as "Cisch" or "Zisch" or "Czysch" or similar. "Czysch" is the older version. The name also can be found in east european countries, Hungaria, Poland. I can not say, whether the poeole with this last name are relatives, but I'm interested to get more information about this.

ncisch: Re: Are you my Family?
I have family in Michigan, Virgina, and Georga. My family also believes that our last name might have been changed. My Great grandfather came to the US through a port in New York. He had a visa pass to come here from Germany(now known as Poland). I know he came here to see his sister and then He went back to get my Great grandma. That's all I know at this time. Hope this helps you.
