You need to locate a name of a town for your ancestor in order to proceed with the research.

Take a look in Ellis Island website as from where the DANKULOVs were.
There were 4 Dankulovs and they listed themselves as being Serbian. That might be a clue. What language did your ancestor speak? Were they Serbian Orthodox?
