	Barbara: Curiosity My grandfather was Richard Ehrl - he originally married Ida Hasselbacher, then divorced and remarried and had children. My brother and I are the only children of my father and his sibling was a girl - hence my brother and I are the end of the Ehrl line from my grandfather's first marriage. We were wondering, however, if any of our 1/2 cousins would like to correspond! Just out of curiosity! 	kronstadt1: Re: Curiosity Az Ehrl név eredetével kapcsolatban annyit tudok elmondani, hogy erdélyi származású, brassói vonzáskörzetű (kronstadt), illetve egész pontosan Botfalui (Bremdorf) eredetű. Magam nem vagyok Ehrl, de egyenesági leszármazott vagyok. Dédnagyapám erről a területről települt át Budapestre a Trianoni békeszerződés után. A név eredetét pontosan nem tudom. Vagy Szász vagy pedig német kultúrkörbe tartozó zsidó eredetű. Ezt abból következtetem, mivel a Dédszüleim és annak szülei kereskedők voltak egész pontosan cukorral kereskedtek és egy erősen polgáriasodott magas műveltséggel rendelkező család volt. Ezt abból következtetem, hogy a Nagyapám hagyatékában maradt több ezer könyvkötet amit nem csak gyüjtött, hanem olvasott is és mellékletekkel ellátott. 	draganits.zsolt: Névazonosság Hi Barbara! As far as the name Ehrl is concerned all. I can tell you that it is of Transylvanian origin, discrict Brasso (Kronstadt). More precisely it comes from Botfalu (Bremdorf). I am not an Ehrl myself, but I am a direct line descendant. My great-grandfather moved from that area to Budapest after the Trianon peace-treaty. I do not exactly awera of the origin of the name. It may originate from either saxon of German culture of Jewish ancestors. I deduce that from the fact that my great-grandparents were merchants trading with sugar. Also it was a middle-class sophisticated family. There were thousands of books left in the inheritance of my great-grandfather. He not only collected the books but also furnished with enclosures and notes.
