| BarbaraRuhe: Fodo/Apai | I am looking for information regarding my paternal grandparents, Istvan Fodo and Rebecca Apai Fodo. My father was Istvan Fodo, born in Turerebes, Ugocsa megye Hungary, now Turulung, RO in 1908. He had brothers Andras and Ferencs, both his senior. The brothers all immigrated to Canada and USA however the parents remained in Romania. Does anyone know of the name Fodo in that region of the country? From stories I was told, the family home was confiscated by the communists and turned into the local post office. Unfortunately my father is deceased as well as his brothers and I never asked the proper questions when I had the chance. I would like to visit Turulung but don't want to go on a wild goose chase. Would like to hear from anyone in the Satu Mare area of Romania.
