My grandfather was Jozef Gier. He left Sandrahaza at the age of 16 in the year 1903. He was supposedly born in Budapest and claimed he was Magyar. Anyone with the name of Gier is welcome to contact me.

Not related.
I do believe that the village should be Sandorhaza. This could be your ancestor coming thru EI twice, in 1903 and in 1905. www.ellisislandrecords.org I would say that he did not make a 1903 trip. Line thru his name on the manifest.
