	Vivian Kahn: GROSZ/Avas-Ujvaros Shprintze (Sadi) GROSZ was my mother's maternal grandmother. Shprintze was born about 1855 in or near Avas-Ujvaros. Her mother's maiden name may have been ROTH. She married Moshe Gershon BERKOVICS about 1873. Their children included Chana Sondel b. about 1875, my grandmother Zlate b. 1878, Dovid Leib b. 1879, Shlima b. about 1880, Mihaly b. 1884, Zalman Leib b. 1885, Hani b. 1888, and Szerena b. 1889. Shprintze died in or near Avas-Ujvaros probably in the early 1920's. Please contact me if you have information about GROSZ family from this area of Szatmar megye. 	Vivian: GROSZ/Avas-Ujvaros I now have a picture of the gravestone of my great-grandmother Shprintze GROSZ BERKOVICS in Orasu Nou, Romania, formerly Avas Ujvaros in Szatmar megye Hungary. The inscription identifies her father as Yechiel and indicates she died in 1916-17. I am trying to find out if Aharon GROSZ, an entrepreneur (vallalkozo) from Avas Ujvaros was related.
