| bofer: Re: Hraboveczki | Hi Cousin!
My name is Bob Fernald Jr.
My grandmother was Helen Mary Hraboveczki.(Hrabovecky etc.)
She was married to Lloyd Fernald.
She was the daughter of Gyorgy John Hraboveczky and Borka (Borbola/Barbara)Bombar? I heard that after Borka died, George was remarried to her sister. Gramma wouldn't talk about her stepmother, she became upset thinking about it and said she was a wicked woman.
George and Borka had 4 children.
Annie b. abt June 1902 and married George Yuhas.
Mary b. Sep 14 1904 and married John Frick
Henry b. May 3 1907 never married
Helen b. Oct 22 1914 and married Lloyd Fernald
Gramma was the youngest, according to her, she was the only one born in Slovakia. She claims that her siblings were born in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
She was born in Licartovce. She pronounced the village "Leek-ar-toe-skits."
Other names over the centuries are:
1249 Licardi, Likardii,
1427 Lycherd,
1786 Licirtowce,
1920 Licartovce
mad. Licsért.
The FHL has some records online.
I think I found George Hraboveczky in Licartovce. But his baptism record is before his date of birth from a record I saw on Ancestry.com which had Feb 22 1874. His baptism record has Gyorgy baptized Jan.17/18 1874 in Licserth. His father was Gyorgy Hraboveczki from Radach. And his mother was Anna Bili from Licserth
with godparents Janos Angus and Anna Majormicsek.
Anna Bili is probably shortened from Bilikovaky.

I looked in Radatice(Radacs)for great great grandfather George born abt 1837 and think I have him too.

Jacobus may have a brother George and sister Barbara. They are the only Hraboveczky's I found there. And the records indicate Lubocz may be a place to search.
