Icide: This name only exists to one family that I know of, to which I am a decendant

The name Icide only is claimed by one family that I know of and that is my mothers family from hungary. I know nothing of the family left behind in the old country for my great grandfather georg Icide came to the US at the turn of the century and I dont know anything before that. Hope someone finds this.

my email address is rjsnyder1 -k-u-k-a-c- verizon -p-o-n-t- net please use it because I really wont make it back to this message board much. My great grandfather Georg Icide I'm not sure. They say they were from romania but fled to hungary because of a war. I dont know if they stayed there or went back, but I was told that they originally were from close to transylvania. Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to locate this name and family because I am looking to go there in person to meet with any decendants.

I finally bought a subscription and got the information, it was good but very lean. I have found that my family Icide is only one family and they have always been from what is now dumbravita, ro. I am asking for any help you can give me in finding anything else either on this site or others. I cant read ro. so it is hard for me. I need to know if there are anymore Icides alive in any other part of the world as well as in RO. I did find a marie icide still living in RO. but I cannot communticate with her well because even in writting in translation it is not very discernable. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to give. Icide.

Hello Joe and others,

One additional source can be the SOCEC directory of Romania from the 1920s. It was digitized by the Library of Congress, and the OCR-ed text was made available by the Kalter website:

On the Kalter page scroll down to the 1925 Romania directory, and enter Icide using both the regular and OCR-adjusted options. It'll give you some more results.
