My grandfather Michael was born in 1881 in Hungary. We have no further information going back in time.
There is debate within the family as to whether he was originally a Catholic or a Jew.

It appears that his father's name was Michael as well.
His mother was Julianna Benko.
He married my grandmother Elisabeth Bombak (Hungarian) in 1907 upon arriving in the United States. There is discussion in the family regarding Grandma Stuffcabbage's gypsy roots and ability to foresee the future, although she was apparently a lifelong devote Roman Catholic.
There are about 30 grandchildren (like me, Tom Kapostasy) from their 10 children who were raised in Fairport Harbor, Ohio |
