I think my great grandfather Andrew (or Andras) moved from Vacz Hungary to Woodbridge, New Jersey, US in 1903 and his brother Istvan followed him out here about a year later. The only family out here that I know is from the Andras line. I have not been able to locate anyone from Istvan's side. If you do a search for Koblasz on this site, you'll see we have a couple who came out this way http://www.ellisislandrecords.com/. We have no idea were Koblasz came from originally but find it curious that Andras only spoke Russian and Hungarian. Why Russian? What do you know about the name? 	Ginger: Re: az nincs Oops, I had it all wrong. My great-grandfather John Ambrus Koblasz was born October 06, 1882 in Puspok Szilagy, Pest, Hungary. John's father was Andrew Koblasz. That's where I got confused. I'm not sure how the Andras/Istvan that are listed in the Ellis Island records are related but my grandfather remembers an Uncle Steve (or Istvan)...
