	Rowena Couture (Kohut): Kohut Family I am looking for information regarding my grandmother, Elizabeth "Erzebet" M. Kohut (Berzzi). She was born around 1889 and came from an area of Tolna Medgyes (I think near Budapest area). She came to the United States around 1900. She worked as an indenture servant to pay for her passage over and for my grandfather's passage when he came over to join her later. His name was Michael Kohut. Grandpa was from Pest. 	Ronnie: KOHUT and BERZI My grandfather, Michael KOHUT came from Hungary (Pest) to the United States abt. 1903. My grandmother, Elizabeth Kohut (BERZI) came from Hungary (Tolna area, possibly Muchonyia) to the United States abt. 1906. 	akohut: Re: Kohuts in Mucsony Oh my gosh. That is amazing. Both my grandfather and my great-grandfather were Nicholas Kohut (and my father and brother). Was John Kohut your father's mother or your mother's mother? Do you know the name of your great-grandfather? Did he also live in the Homestead area? My father's family is all from Homestead. My father says he vaguely remembers his grandfather's (my great grandfather's)brother. 	evonri: Re: Kohuts in Mucsony My mother's father was John Kohut (married to Julia Zoldie) -- his siblings were Maria, Terezia, Mihaly (Mike) (also immigrated to Homestead), Anna and Rozalia. John's father was also a John Kohut (married to Maria Bodnar) -- his siblings were Miklos (Nicholas), Andras, and Mihaly. My Kohut family still resides in Muscony. I believe my great uncle Nicholas owned a butcher shop. His wife's name was Julia and their children were Anna, Helen, Mary, Nicholas, Jr., Stephen, Edward, Julia and Margaret (Molly). The information I have regarding Grandma indicates that she came from the Muchony area. Grandpa had three brothers; John, Paul, and Andy and (?) possibly a sister(?). Grandma and Grandpa settled in Bobtown (Greene County), Pennsylvania. Grandpa's brother Paul settled in Homestead, Pennsylvania. Paul's wife's name was Irene. Paul is buried in our family cemetery plot at St. Elias cemetery, West Mifflin, PA. I am in contact with Irene's granddaughter Nancy. WOuld love to share other information with you. Felesége Lesnyik Irén, két ismert gyermekük van, Lutz Ilona és Gábor néven, mivel édesanyjuk második férje a nevükre vette a gyerekeket! 	caren: Kohut I am searching for information on my great grandparents who came over in 1902 from Bremen and listed their residence as Sarospatak, language as Hungarian maygar - Janos Kohut arrived first at the age of 36 on Feb 14 1902 and his wife Erzebet Kohut arrived after him at the age of 21 in July of 1902. Her maiden name was Tumik and they had 2 children who came with them where they came to live in Alabama where they had 6 more children. They ended up living in Illinois where he worked the coal mines. She died in 1922 of consumption. I am looking for information on their parents and relatives. 	caterine: Kohut család Újhelyben Én Kohut Katalin vagyok, bátyám Kohut István Sátoraljaújhelyen él, már megkértem, hogy a római egyház parókiáján nézzen utána nagyapa Kohut József pontos születési idejének és helyének. Az ő felesége Szaszák Margit volt, aki 1902-ben született valahol Szlovákia területén, egy Szaszák testvére élt Újhelyben, aki postás volt régen. Nagyapának több testvére volt, egyik Kohut István szintén a Thököly utcában lakott. Jóságné, Bacskayné Fenyvessyné is Kohut lány, én ennyire emlékszem a családból, mivel szüleim 1967-ben elváltak. Apa Kohut Gyula volt, 1929 február 20-án született már Újhelyben, nővére Kohut Piroska, 1999-ben hunyt el. Nagyon szerencsétlen család volt a miénk, sokat tűrtek az élettől, bár nem érdemelték meg. Remélem, tudtam segíteni és rokonok vagyunk. A parókián lehetne, vagy a levéltárban utána nézni annak, hol élt azelőtt ez a Kohut család, talán Szlovákia területén. 	arty: Kohut from Istvanfalu Please help me find my Hungarian connections. I have found my grandfathers WWI draft registration listing him as from Tdswanfalt. I am assuming this is misspelled and should read Istvanfalu. The photo is the back side of a photo of my g.grandparents and their children (my grandparents). I was told it was Otto Kohut and Elisabeth Dakorski but it could be Joseph Wehn and his wife Elisabeth Neu or Joseph Wehn and Lena Kohut his second wife and my grandmother.
