	Susan: Korim My great great grandmother was Maria Korim, married to Janos Garaj, according to Szinobanya Evangelical Church records (LDS microfilm 2011173, Cirkevna matrika 1769-1949). They had seven children I was able to find on that film for their baptismal records: Janos, Mihaly, Maria (my great grandmother), Zsuzsanna, Gyorgy, Ilona and Paulinka, all born between 1870 and 1886. Anyone know this family who was living in then Szinobanya, now Cinobana, Lucenec, Slovakia? 	Roman LACKO: Re: Korim At a 95% this is a the same Janos Korim. On my ancestry I have got name Janos Korim and his sister Maria Korim - married Garaj. All my family is from this area - middle Slovakia (Cinobana, Mladzovo=Nemesfalva). I´m from Kosice - east SLOVAKIA. I would love to know more about my family's history too. 	Susan: Re: Korim My grandfather was Stephen Mocsny (Moczny, Moczni) who was the son of Andrew Mocsny and Mary Garay Mocsny. As you see, they Anglicized their names when they came to the U.S. In English, the name Garaj is pronounced Garay, so they just used that spelling. I know at least four of her siblings came to the U.S. also. I found her brothers Michael, John and her sisters Pauline and Helen all in Ohio, where my greatgrandparents settled. (City of Elyria, Lorain County, state of Ohio, U.S.) Their mother was Maria Korim and their father Janos Garaj. I know there were some Korims in Elyria. I found an article in an old newspaper that talks about Helen and Pauline Korim in a club meeting at the Social Settlement in October 1925. Feel free to contact me off this list if you can provide information about the family in Slovakia or just want to coordinate investigation. 	Irene: Re: Korim I don't know if you are still looking for relatives in Cinobana, but my father(John Korim) grew up there with his maternal grandmother after his parents moved to Canada. His sister Jolana was with him. MY grandfather was John Korim and his wife was Helen Urbancok. They lived in Montreal Canada though. I do not know my father's grandmother's name though. 	Julie: Re: Korim Hi Irene, Wow, definitely been a long time. Rick and I are now living in North Carolina. Have been here for almost 9 yrs. Patty is still in the Sault and Melody is still in Calgary. Cindy is still living in Brockville although mom and Dad moved to Prescott. Not that far away. I guess you hadn't heard the Aunt Martha and Aunt Olga have both passed away. Aunt Martha was over a year ago and Aunt Olga just this year. Martha had been sick for a long time, but Aunt Olga had skin cancer on her leg that unfortunately had spread. Dad and Mom had brought both her and Yolande down for the US Thanksgiving. It was lots of fun. A little taste for my kids what it was like. Still lots of cooking and ironing. It is still hard sometimes to believe she won't be there when we go home this summer. How is your son, he must be all grown up now. Do you ever here from Johnny? He stayed over one night when we were living in Calgary. He was driving a truck and was passing through. All of use girls have facebook pages, so we can send pictures etc to each other.
