	Mama Ski: Marton family in Nagydem John Martin (Janos MARTON ?) was born in Nagydem, Hungary. I cannot find microfilmed church records for this town/village. Does anyone know where people from Nagydem might have gone to church? Nagydem is about 50 miles west of Budapest and south of Gyor. Janos Marton was b. 8 Aug 1871 and went to America circa 1890. 	Mama Ski: Marton in Nagydem To mgh: Thanks for the information about a church in Nagydem, and the name of the village Gic. I called the LDS Family History Library about records for Nagydem; they apparently did not microfilm records there. Nor, do they have anything for a village called Gic, only for a place called Gicze which is in Gomor, I think. I guess we will just have to go to Hungary to look for the records! I do not know this person, but I have not finished looking through the microfilmed records for Lovaszpatona (Nagydem). My grandfather was Jozsef Marton, born in 1880; his father was Janos Marton and his mother was Erzsebet Bona. Jozsef married Maria Erlich in 1904 in Vencsello and they both moved to the United States (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania)in 1905. Maria Erlich's father was Pal Erlich and her mother was Maria Trank - all of Vencsello. 	chester13: Marton / VARSÁNY, DUDAR Az én családfámon is vannak Martonok, 1720 körül kerülhettek a veszprém megyei Cseténybe. Valószínűleg Dudarról (kb. 20 km Varsánytól) települtek át, mert Dudaron már az 1573-as adóösszeíráson szerepel egy Marton Mihály, mint egésztelkes gazda. Judit, a vezetékneved olasz eredetű, vagy a Sebestyénből származik? Egyébként Varsányban nekem is vannak őseim, Somogyiak.
