Nemet what ?? There were lot of towns that started with Nemet or had Nemet in its name.
The old 1910 Hungarian megye map is at :
http://lazarus.elte.hu/hun/maps/1910 but you do need to know the name of a megye / county.
There were 82 MATYEs that passed thru Ellis Island but none of them were from Nemet.

It shows that he came from Czerna.
I have attempted to find that on a map, but cannot.

Can it be a town named Csernyo in Torontal megye and now in Yugoslavia? Or even a town named Cserna in Hunyad megye and now in Romania?

There seems to be several villages named Czerna in Poland.

Is Miklos MATYE passing thru EI in 1907 your ancestor?
He does have that his last residence is Czerna and the place of birth as Czernyo. |
