When did he come to America? You need to backtrack from yourself finding information on your parents, their parents, their parents, etc. That is how you start a family tree. Was your HAAS ancestor naturalized citizen? Did she have social security numbers? http://ssdi.rootsweb.com Those two forms will have her place of birth.
