Dear Marjo Orimus, I'm a member of "family" Oremus/Oromus/Orémusz/Orimus?,and I look for our orogin, that's why I've found your message. I know variations of this surname, but the basic must be Oremus /latin/. In Hungary there are near the Romanien, Ukrainen border. I MEAN they came here after the turkish invasion before 1700. Originally they musthave lived near Beregovo (Ukraine) - in that time it was the part of Hungary, and not really far from the site, where my progenitors lived from aprox. 1780. About Orimus: In an almanach of craftsmen and merchants in Hungary (in the year 1891.)there is one occurrence of Orimus surename, in town SZÉKESFEHÉRVÁR (SZEKESFEHERVAR).
