I have just learning English, but I try to help you. There is an interesting and large book about history of Kecel and ethnography of Kecel (in hungarian - I think). It's name is:
Kecel története és néprajza, Szerkesztette Bárth János 1984

In the book there are some old family too. I look at this book at the weekend, because I am going to travel to Kecel to my parents. In Kecel there are some Paplanos family, but every Paplanos don't relative.
Few years ago our mayor's office made short film about Kecel. (in hungarian, in german, maybe in english?)
There is a kecel's newspaper, which published once a month.
It's name is: KOPOGTATÓ (knocker?)
