Parate - Baraolt fórumban: kezdi: In Barot & Solymos

Ron: Surnames :: Parate genealogy
Searching for information on my grandparents. Julia Parate immigrated to New York in Nov 1911 & Jul 1913. Records of EI show a residence of Barot(H)(Baraolt(R)) of her mother Mrs. Istvan Parate. Although with four children, Maria, Irene, Anna and Mihaly, all born in Nagysolymos/aka Solymos/Romanian name Soimusu Mare. She was unaccompanied and widowed from a Michael Kraft of Arad in Nov 1911. Michael (Miklos) Kraft was a builder of organs, accordians and taught music and dancing. He and assistant died of consumption, unknown to caretaker, being locked in a church, beleived in Arad, Hungary. In July 1913 she again immigrated to New York with her children. This time to meet second husband Demetrius Burfete, who immingrated to Buffalo, New York in Feb 1909 and again Dec 1911 with residence shown on EI records in Kisszentmiklos, Hungary.
Thank you,
Ron

Janos: Re: Parate genealogy
Dear Ron,
I have few new data on Parates from Barot/Baraolt (Transylvania, Romania). As the data number are growing, it's same with questions too... I will send them in e-mail.
I think that we will have to search more than the Greak-Catholic Registers.
Above I am asking for more info (in Hungarian) from the descendants of the Barot miller Parate "dinasty"... Maybe whe will have some luck.

Kedves Parate Leszarmazottak!
Nagyon megkoszonnem, ha valakinek lenne plusz informacioja a baroti Parate (molnar-dinasztia) csaladrol, ugyanis a leveltarban levo gorog-katolikus anyakonyvekben levo adatok sorbarendezese utan tobb a kerdes, mint a valasz a PARATE csaladot illetoen.

Best wishes / A legjobbakat,
Kocs Janos - Sepsiszentgyorgyrol

Sent these also:

The Guggle Parate search result for "parate erdelyben" = parate in transylvania, is a relatively recent reference to the book "Magyarok utcája" = Streets of Hungarians in Cluj/Kolozsvar, where a Gyula Parate and wife Erzsebet Kokossy owned the Magyar Street #35 house from 1944 to 1946 = "1944-ben Parate Gyula és felesége, Kökössy Erzsébet": http://mek.oszk.hu/02800/02808/html/

It has pictures also, one of them is the old gate of the town fortress where the house were located, the other is the starting it's demolition: "A Magyar kapu (metszet)" and "Megkezdődött a sarokház (35. sz.) bontása"

Ron Smith: Re: Parate genealogy
To: Laci, Janos and Joseph,
Thank you all, so very much for your research time and furnishing me your effort. Starting using a on line free translation service, helps picking thru some of the hungarin words into english. Every time something new arrivies, opens up more "gateways" and questions, which allows me to stay up to early morning hours sorting through
the information. Has become my life passion. Received all which is listed in Radix Forum.
Sincerely,
Ron from Virginia
