I am not sure how many Gunst families there exists. My family comes from Albertirsa/Szentes - Hungary. My greatgrandfather is Jakob Gunst. His father was Izrael Gunst married to Johanna Stern. The names of the 10 children are: Marton, Julia, Abraham, David, Hendri,Leopold, Jakob, Moric, Lajos, Bertalan.Bertalan married and went to Englang as far as I know. I have just been visiting mr. Laszlo Galla(earlier Gunst)in Budapest. He is 90 years old and grandson of 1 of the 10 boys. 10 years ago he was in contakt with a Pierre Gunst Horn(father Henri/Chaim Gunst) - also a decendent from Israel Gunst. And just now I am mailing with Frédéric Gunst Horn from Versailles in France. Son of Pierre GunstHorn, who was son of Hendri. Hendri was a painter in France. Please tell me what you know about my family. 	kgunst: Maria Gunst dau of Jacob Gunst Dear Marianne. I am a Gunst in the US whose ancestors came to the US from Germany in 1839. The father's name was Jacob and his wife's name was I believe Caroline. They settled first in the northern area of New York state. They later moved to Albany, New York and then all over the country. Jacob seems to have been a common name among the Gunst family as it repeats over and over. Therefore, I am not sure if we are closely connected but I do think this bears further examination. His name was David Gunst and born in 1848. He immigrated with his wife Vera in 1899 and setteled down in Wisconsin. 	Boudewijn Gunst: Gunst Family I'm performing a family study of the Gunst family. They were in Belgium already at the very beginning of the 17th century. Some emigrated to Holland at that time. In the 16th century they were in Alsace (France). Before oral indications from family are Germany and Hungary. Any comments?
