	sam4655: Pathy & Gratz Hello, I am Sam Pathy and I am looking for information on my family. My Grandfather, Samuel Pathy was born in 1893 and left Kis-Karasztos, Hungary in 1911. He settled in Chicago. A brother Joseph was born in 1896 and also also settled in Chicago. Their parents (my great-grandparents) were Joseph and Josephine (Gratz) Pathy. Josephine died apparently after giving birth to Joseph in 1896 and the father died soon after. The boys lived with their grandparents before emigrating. The village, in which your grandfather was born, lays in that region, which became the eastern part of Austria in 1921. The german name of Kiskarasztos is Kleinbachselten, start your search in Austria, county Burgenland. Although I can say, that the name Pathy is a typically name in the village, where my parents live: Őrisziget (german: Siget in der Wart). This village is very close to Kiskarasztos/Kleinbachselten. There live a lot of people with this name and my grandma´s name was Ilona Pathy as well.
